South India makes up half of the Christian population and then more are typically in the Northeast belonging mostly to tribal communities. Many of the converts are from the south, and of lower caste and scheduled tribes which could be why they would have converted to leave the exploitative caste system.

Show and Heal's Xahej Bajipura shares a homemade, healthy vegetarian meal with Nam-Simran (an attorney and mother) at the local Gurudwara, the Sikh temple of worship.

Langar is a free communal meal in Gurudwara where everyone—of all faiths or no faiths, regardless of caste—are sitting on the same level. Everyone takes a turn to serve and no one is above or below anyone else.
